I struggled to choose a favorite photo for this assignment because I found that I liked different things about each of the photos. Even though there were things I would have changed, I was most surprised by my framing, depth, symmetry and leading lines photos. They were not my favorites when I took the photos, but when I got into lightroom and started looking through what I had shot I found myself drawn to them. I am most comfortable photographing people so I wanted to use this assignment to explore shooting photographs where people were not the central subject. I found that it forced me to think about what was interesting in the photographs I wanted to take and made me think of the narrative each photo was telling. In the end I felt my rule of thirds photo was one of my stronger pieces as the leaf is dried up and seemingly hanging on for dear life, but the setting sun fills it with an incredibly vibrant light against the brown gray backdrop. I feel like the eyes are immediately drawn to the story that the leaf tells.
